Pains in my Chest

Pains in my chest seek to oppress
The strenuous stress of my desk.

Pains in my chest retard the success
Of good ideas and excess,
Of laughter and fine dress.

Pains in my chest, I cannot impress
Enough the recess,
Costly backtracks and regress,
Fear and egress.

Pains in my chest
Of my own excess, I confess.
Nevertheless, I will aggress
Swearing to reassess distress
And address convalescence.
